Exactly 12 days ago, the US Congress approved the $30 million request made by the State Department to increase the ideological and political subversion against the Cuban Revolution.

A State Department official who declined to be named, suggested that, when interviewed on the issue, Ms. Roberta Jacobson said she had met with several Congress members to explain the importance and necessity of these funds, especially now. Reporting that the funds had been approved, Jacobson called the meeting... productive. (She did not say respectful; but this goes without saying.)

At the meeting of the House Appropriations Committee on June 12, the $30 million requested by the Department of State for "programs to promote democracy and strengthen civil society in Cuba" were approved. Of these, 8 million were allocated for the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).

As is well-known, NED is the agency that the US government has chosen to replace the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), which was already burnt out, to work against the Cuban Revolution, supporting opposition groups, promoting Washington-style "democracy ", introducing into the brains of Cubans the values and lifestyle of the United States, and trying to get the government of the Cuban people to disappear from the surface of the Earth.

We could not know if Obama knew of this move. With the problems in Charleston and other problems that are developing internally in the US; the approval by Congress of the power to move forward in the TPP; the situation in Ukraine; checking the progress in the making of the coups against Maduro and Correa; the instructions and weapons for the Islamic State to put an end to Syria; the development of aggressive military and economic positions against Russia; the disease of his daughters’ puppy; and the discussion with Michel on where to spend their holidays, it is possible that this nonsense has not reached him yet. (After all it’s only 30 million dollars).

I'm sure that once Obama finds out about this, he will be furious, as he was when he learned about the murder of the nine Black citizens in Charleston. And I'm sure he will do as he did in connection with that incident: Ask his steward to serve him a glass of Scotch (Chivas Regal, of course, remember that he is the President).
